eCopy PDF Pro Office 5 is an enterprise-class PDF-creation solution designed for organizations that depend on PDF files to communicate, share information or archive business documents. The software can be used not only to create PDF, searchable PDF and PDF/A files, but also to convert static PDFs into editable, searchable files in popular file formats including WordPerfect and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. BLI technicians found the application easy to set up and use, so for the majority of users no IT training will be required. Moreover, eCopy PDF Pro Office gives businesses a full-featured PDF solution that costs much less than the leading alternative.

eCopy PDF Pro Office is fully compliant with other PDF viewers and fully compatible with Microsoft Office applications. It also integrates with Nuance’s eCopy ShareScan for seamless PDF scanning from networked MFPs to client desktops. The Document Assembly feature lets users combine documents created in different formats by simply previewing the pages and putting them where they want via drag and drop. PDF Portfolio allows users to combine multiple types of files into a PDF, without changing the file type (similar in functionality to “zip” archiving).
Many users will appreciate the program’s Scan and Mark feature, which enables users to highlight, cross-out or redact a chosen term in a document automatically. eCopy PDF Pro Office also offers a “flattening” feature, which enables users to annotate a document (say by adding a note, stamp or signature) and lock down those elements before passing it along to the next person. The next user in line can add his own elements and annotations. BLI technicians were particularly impressed with the program’s “look-like” search abilities: Users can search a document for data that adheres to a certain format (such as phone numbers, social security numbers or inventory numbers) without having to know the exact data string.
The program is compatible with TWAIN- , ISIS-, and WIA-compliant scanners and scan-enabled networked MFPs.
